After the Disneyland adventure, we spent a couple weekends at home in Bakersfield. The first weekend Paul and Tricia Gaye came to us and we went to this place Kyle was raving about, Moo Creamery. It was as good as he said!
We had a great time eating and talking. And Kyle was delighted to try Moo's Cereal Milk flavored milkshake.
The last weekend we were in Bakersfield we drove out to Valencia Friday night (after Kyle took his test). Paul and Tricia Gaye had made pizza and ice cream, which was delicious. We did a puzzle with them and then went to bed. The next morning we ate and got ready to head to the beach in Ventura. Paul and Tricia Gaye had borrowed a double kayak from their friends for us to use.
It was really nice weather and we had a ton of fun kayaking. It was the first time I had ever done it and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
They took us to a Fish and Chips place after, which Kyle really loved. I, of course, had chicken, but it was really good. We ended the evening with some more homemade ice cream and a few episodes of NCIS.
We have been so lucky to have Paul and Tricia Gaye so close. They have been incredibly generous and helpful to us!
The last Sunday in Bakersfield I was surprised at how sad I was to be leaving. Not to the point of tears or anything, but I really have enjoyed the ward and some of the people in it who I have met.

On Saturday morning we headed home. We stopped in Las Vegas to visit Kyle's friend and her new little babe. We also stopped in St. George to visit Grandpa Dowdle. We were supposed to go berry picking in Enterprise, but the place was closed. Instead we stopped and chatted for a little while before heading to American Fork.

We spent the first week here in at Alicia and Peter's house. We loved it so much! We finally got to meet sweet little Kate and got to hang out with Will! Kyle was pretty much always holding baby Cake, as can be seen from the pictures below!

Sunday Shan, Jeff, and Addy came down to visit us too. It was great to spend time with my sisters! We are super alike and it shows most when we are all together like that.

Addy still doesn't really like anyone, but she inexplicably loves Kyle. He was in heaven!
