ABCT Convention

We got there fairly early Friday morning for the convention. Once we got through the maze of a hotel to the actual convention center, the day was full of presentations, meetings, and getting semi-lost trying to find our way to presentations and meetings. While I didn't always understand what the presenters were describing, I understood more than I thought I would, which is always a good sign.

We were totally exhausted by the end of the day, it is slightly embarrassing. We drove to a grocery store to buy some fresh fruit and were in bed by about 10:30. Yeah, I know, we definitely lived it up in Nashville.

The next day was a lot of the same as the day before, although this time Kersti and I presented our poster on Parental Conflict and Child Outcomes. It was the first time I had ever done it, so I was sort of nervous. But after watching Kersti do it once, I was totally fine and actually had a lot of fun talking to people and answering their questions about our project.

That night, we met Dr. Braithwaite and Dr. Baldwin and their wives for dinner in downtown Nashville. When we caught up with them, Dr. Braithwaite's wife was chatting with a random man on the street and he was telling her all of the good places to eat. Word to the wise: always ask the locals. They know the best places to eat. I really wish I could remember the name of the place we ate, but I totally can't. But it was absolutely delicious. And it was a ton of fun hanging out with everyone in a non-professional setting. We had a great time just talking and laughing. And cooing over Dr. Braithwaite's totally perfect baby. Seriously, we spent quite a long time with him and he never cried. He's so adorable.

Even though it was FREEZING because of the wind, the night ended with them taking us to this adorable sweet shop they found so we could pick up some treats for our families.
