Last weekend Anne and I decided we'd had enough of Provo and decided to take off for St. George.
Okay, that's only partially true. We really were sick of Provo, but we had already planned to leave, so it all worked out great!
The weather was super weird as we were driving down and we ran into a couple of snow storms randomly, but nothing too bad. Plus, we listened to "Aida" and sang out guts out the whole way down, so we didn't mind.
We stopped off in Cedar City to pick up Jared, where he and Anne had their first awkward encounter when he hugged her instead of shaking hands like a normal person. Good, Jare, good.
After the quick drive to St. George to Jared's sister Janae's house, we dropped our stuff off and then went to dinner at this amazing Thai food place. The waiter thought we were crazy because we ordered two 4s and one 5 on the spiciness scale, but it tasted SOOOOO good!
Then we went to this laser tag/mini golf place. When we walked in I was a little worried because it looked super ghetto, but it turned out to be totally awesome!
The mini golf was glow in the dark and all of the paintings were so cool! And I got a hole in one! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if I had actually beat Jared, but oh well.

When we got back to Jared's sister we talked with his brother-in-law Ben for a while and then he taught us how to play "Dominion". Considering how confused and wary I was at the beginning, I had a ton of fun! And, turns out, I'm not half bad at it!
The next morning Jared and Janae went to the 8 o'clock session at the temple and then Anne and I met Jared after to do baptisms. We ended up being there about three hours, so poor Jared was starving after his 5 hours in the temple! But it was still really fun. We made friends with the worker at the front (who was quite blown away by the fact that we were in the 185th ward down here). Also, apparently everyone knows each other down there. Seriously, I swear the worker knew the names of like everyone who came in!

After the temple we ate some much needed food and figured out plans for the afternoon. Anne really wanted to see some petroglyphs, so we had Casey Wood (who is down at Dixie) meet us at Jared's sister's house and the four of us set off. It was quite the adventure trying to find the trailhead because it is not very well marked. I think I was given instructions to turn around at least three times. We finally found it though.
It was really beautiful down there. Although we seemed to have brought some of the cold weather with us because it was super windy. Still, I had a ton of fun catching up with Casey and playing around with some of my best friends!

I'm super afraid of heights, so Casey and Jared were scaring me to death almost the whole time, but they had a good time exploring some of the rocks because we couldn't find very many petroglyphs.

We talked in the car for about an hour once we got back (during which Jared fell asleep a couple times, in very uncomfortable positions). We went inside when Casey had to go home and had dinner with Jared's family. I was loving being around them. The whole thing reminded me so much of being at home with my family, except I had no responsibility to try to stop the kids from being crazy. It was fun to talk to Janae and Ben a little more too. They are awesome! And their kids are stinkin' cute!
We were too tired to do much else the rest of the night, so we watched "The Man Who Knew Too Little" and talked before we went to bed.
The next morning we packed everything up and drove back to Cedar City to go to Sacrament Meeting and Sunday School (Jared had to teach). After Jared's lesson, Anne and I drove back to Provo, again listening to/singing along with "Aida".
I finished the weekend by spending some time with my family in Centerville. After Dad gave an awesome lesson for family group, we ate (and ate, and ate) yummy desserts (Derrick and I both had real food too since we hadn't eaten dinner). There were way to many options for dessert, but since Anne and I didn't really have junk food in the car, I didn't feel too bad about it.
Overall it was a great weekend!
