Tuesday: We woke up early again (although not as early as planned) so that we could get to the park in enough time to park at Logan Pass and hike actually on the glaciers and to Hidden Lake. The trailhead is at the very top of the awful road, but I was much less anxious this time, thank goodness. The first part of the hike was on a board walk, which actually made it harder because of the stupid steps that were in fact too high for a normal person to step up comfortably. But, the view was absolutely incredible the whole way. We were super high up (obviously) so we could see everything! The trail was pretty packed, and it was fun to see everyone get so excited about the snow. We were less enthused because we see it every year, but it was cool there was still so much on the last day of July!
As we were hiking, Derrick and I decided we felt like we were in a movie. "The Lord of the Rings" to be specific. Which is something I can safely say now that I've seen those movies. The surroundings were just so picturesque. I kept felling like I should see a castle rising up in front of us and little villages tucked neatly in among the trees. It was interesting to see the different landscapes all in one place. Some places it was nothing but dirt and snow and then we'd walk 15 more feet and were surrounded by trees. It was so cool!

| This is where I feel like there should be villages. |

Hidden Lake was incredible. The pictures just don't do it justice. We weren't allowed to go past the overlook because of bear danger, which was disappointing. But it was still so beautiful.

| I'm sad you can't see how high we are. Right behind me is a HUGE dropoff. |

So there was one part where the glacier was stacked tall against the trail and everyone wrote stuff in the snow as they passed. Since it was a few days before our parent's anniversary, Derrick and I put there initials in a heart and made them pose next to it for a picture. (My parents got quite tired of all the pictures we made them take, but that was half the fun!)

We actually ran into some people from Centerville up there, ironically enough. We chatted with them for a minute and then got back in the car and made the trek back from the top of the mountain in Montana to Coeur d'Alene in Idaho. That night we had dinner at a restaurant in the resort called Dockside. It was super good. And pretty, both the food and the view of the docks on the lake.
