Happy Birthday, Lizzy Lou!

Wednesday was this beautiful girl's birthday!
Lizzy's Senior Prom

Lizzy and I met and became friends when my family moved into a house two houses down from hers in November of 1994.  And we've been friends ever since.  That makes her my longest friend (outside by siblings and tied with Mary, of course!)
Preschool: Aren't we cute?!

Since it was Lizzy's first birthday away from home, I decided that I would cook her breakfast since her mom usually does it.  It was fun to get to start the day together and walk to school together!

Best Friends!

After our long day of school, we went to Lizzy's apartment and then out to dinner with her roommates and Megan.

Lizzy wanted to take a picture with the Jimmer sign and made Megan and me be in it too

Two of her roommates had somewhere to go, but the rest of us walked around the Riverwoods and got ice cream at Provo Beach Resort.  Then we went back to Lizzy's apartment and had a good time talking and making prank calls...okay, so Rachel was pretty much the only one who did any actual calling, but the rest of us provided numbers and encouragement.

What I love about Lizzy:  She is just so good!  I know it sounds silly, but it's true.  She has always been a good friend to me and is someone I know I can turn to and talk to no matter how long it has been.  I am who I am because of her and her family.  She has an incredible memory for people and events.  I love getting her texts describing a childhood reference she made that no one else got (What do you want?  Colored eggs.  What colors do you want?).  She cares about everyone she meets and is concerned for everyone's welfare and feelings.  I don't think she can do a purposefully mean thing.  She is super smart and hard working.  She's also super out-going, which is something I wish I was more like her in.  She makes friends easily and makes everyone feel loved and included.
She has her head on straight, knows what she wants from this life, and refuses to settle for less.  She relies wholly on the Lord in times of need and is continuously striving to overcome her flaws and weaknesses.  I can't tell you the number of times she has told me she has prayed to learn to have patience and love for people she is frustrated with.
She reminds me so much of her mom, Debbie sometimes.  Which is a huge compliment.  She has been a lifesaver for me more times than I can count and I feel so incredibly lucky to have her as my best, and longest friend!
